Does Palworld crash before the title screen, while loading one world, or after several minutes of play? A startup crash may involve game files, GPU drivers, overlays, or mods. A single world that fails while others load suggests save-specific trouble. Do not assume the disk is faulty or delete save data based on one crash.
Step 1. Restart Windows and check that the PC meets the game's current requirements. Note the exact error message and when the crash occurs.
Step 2. In Steam, open the game's Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files. This repairs installation files, not personal saves. For another launcher, use its equivalent repair option.
Step 3. Update the graphics driver from the GPU maker and Windows from supported official channels. Disable overlays and recently added mods one at a time. Keep a list of changes so you can reverse them. Mods that alter save content may make a world dependent on those mods, so preserve saves before removing files.
Step 4. Test a new world without changing the affected one. If only one world fails, use the game's world-selection backup/restore option where available, selecting a backup dated before the crash. Copy the current world first; a restore can replace recent progress.
Step 5. If it crashes only during busy scenes, lower graphics quality, limit background apps, and monitor temperatures. If only multiplayer worlds crash, test the same world in single-player or with multiplayer disabled where that setting is available. Change one setting at a time so the cause remains identifiable.
Step 6. Once saves are backed up, update Palworld through the launcher. Reinstall only if verification and settings checks fail; reinstalling game files is not a guaranteed fix for a damaged world save.
If multiple games crash, examine temperatures, free space, and Windows Event Viewer. Repeated storage I/O errors justify a separate backup and disk diagnostics. If Palworld alone crashes, investigate game-specific files, mods, and saves before replacing hardware.
Step 1. Close the game or applications using the files. Connect a healthy external drive and open Backup and Recovery > File Backup.

Step 2. In the source tree, select the Palworld save folder for your launcher, after locating the affected world in the game's backup or save settings. Confirm the folder actually contains the expected files.

Step 3. Select an external drive or separate network folder as the destination and verify available space.

Step 4. Review source and destination, click Proceed, and wait for completion. Restore a test copy into a different folder before deleting or replacing any original save.

Start with reversible tests and preserve worlds before any restore. A Qiling backup protects save files; it does not repair game code, drivers, or corrupted save contents.
