How to fix iOS 11 Touch ID not working on iPhone and iPad

1. Clean and dry home button
Make sure your iPhone's Home button is clean and dry to ensure successful Touch ID reading.
2. Turn Off/on Touch ID for iPhone Unlock, Apple Pay, and iTunes Store & App Store
If the iOS 11 Touch ID is not working for purchases in the App Store or iTunes Store after the update, try the following tips to fix it.
- To disable purchases from the iTunes Store and App Store, go to Settings > Touch ID & Passcode, enter your passcode, and then toggle off iTunes Store & App Store.
- To restart your iPhone or iPad, press and hold the wake button until the "Slide to Power Off" option appears. Swipe the slider to the right to turn off your device.
- To enable Touch ID for purchases, go back to Settings > Touch ID & Passcode > iTunes Store & App Store, and tap it on.

- To delete all fingerprints, select one fingerprint you've added and tap on "Delete Fingerprint". Repeat this process until all fingerprints have been deleted.
- Add a new fingerprint by tapping on "App a Fingerprint" and following the on-screen instructions to register the new fingerprint.
4. Restart or force restart iPhone/iPad
For iOS 11 users experiencing Touch ID issues, a simple solution is to restart and force restart the device, as this can sometimes resolve the problem unexpectedly.
For iPhone 6 and earlier, press and hold the Home and Power buttons simultaneously for at least 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.

5. Reset all settings on iPhone/iPad
