If one recovery program lists files but cannot preview the contents you need, a second scan may be useful. Qiling Deep Data Recovery is an alternative for readable Windows drives, USB sticks, and SD cards. Do not install either program onto the affected drive, and do not assume that a second brand can recover sectors already overwritten.
Before paying for any tool, identify the original file system and loss event. Check backup and cloud copies first. Then compare whether each program detects the same device, previews the important file types, and lets you save to a safe destination. Availability, licensing, and free recovery limits can change, so verify the current terms on each vendor's site instead of relying on an old comparison chart.
These steps apply when the device appears with its expected capacity in Windows. A disk that clicks, reports the wrong size, or vanishes under load needs a different response.
Step 1. Open Qiling and choose Fast Scan for recent deletion, Format Scan for a formatted volume, or Disk Scan when the partition is lost.

Step 2. Select the original drive by label and capacity. Start the scan and keep the device connected.

Step 3. Filter by file type or name and preview several important files. An intact preview is more meaningful than a filename alone.

Step 4. Select the files and click Recover. Save to another physical disk and open the saved copies to verify them.

Neither Qiling nor EaseUS can bypass a missing BitLocker key, undo SSD TRIM, or repair a physically dead disk. If the source is deteriorating, stop repeated full scans. See the broader data recovery alternative comparison for other approaches.
