If you want to transfer Quicken from one computer to another without reinstalling, you have two options. You can either use a manual method or download a third-party application called Qiling Disk Master, which can automatically transfer Quicken to your new computer.
To transfer Quicken to a new PC, simply click the transfer button and wait a second. You'll see your Quicken on the new PC with all reports, data, accounts, and more. To do this, you'll need to download Qiling Disk Master on both PCs, and follow the step-by-step guide in "PC to PC" mode, which allows you to move applications from one computer to another under the same Internet.
Qiling Disk Master simplifies the process of transferring files between computers and moving installed programs and accounts to other devices, with features like Data Rescue and App Management.
Step 1. Run Qiling Disk Master on both PCs
On the source PC, select "File sync" on the Qiling Disk Master main screen and proceed.
Step 2. Connect two computers
1. Connect to your target PC via its IP address or device name and click "Connect".
2. To access the target PC, enter the login password and click "OK" to confirm.
If you didn't see the target PC in the listed devices, you can manually connect the target PC by clicking "Add PC" and inputting its IP address or device name.
Step 3. Select apps, programs, and software and transfer to the target computer
1. You can choose and select what you want to transfer from the current computer to the target PC.
2. After choosing the desired applications and programs, click the "Transfer" button to initiate the transfer process.
Have you finished the Quicken transfer? If not, you can try transferring under a different LAN. Alternatively, you can download Qiling Disk Master and use its "Backup & Restore" feature, which requires an external drive to restore the backup file.
To manually transfer Quicken to a new device, you'll need to reinstall the software, create a backup file, move the backup file to an external device, and then restore it on the new device. This process utilizes Quicken's built-in Backup and Restore function.
To move your Quicken data file to another computer, you can use one of two manual methods. First, you can transfer the file using a USB drive by copying the file from your old computer to the drive and then plugging the drive into your new computer. Alternatively, you can use a Dropbox account to upload the file to the cloud and then download it on your new computer.
Step 1. Install Quicken on the new computer.
Quicken allows you to install it on multiple devices, so you can download the latest version on the new PC through the official website.
Step 2. Backup Quicken data file to USB/Dropbox.
To backup your Quicken file on an old computer, open Quicken, go to the File menu, select Backup and Restore, and click Backup Quicken File.
After you see a file backup window, select the Backup path, move the backup to the USB, and then choose Proceed to start the backup process.
Step 3. Restore backup file on the New PC.
Connect your external drive containing your Quicken files to the new computer. This will allow you to transfer your Quicken data to the new computer.
To restore a Quicken backup, drag the backup files from File Explorer into Quicken, then go to File > Restore from Backup File.
To restore your Quicken file, go to the location where your Quicken files are saved and select the "Restore" option. Click "OK" to proceed.
Migrating Quicken to another computer can be done easily using an online method, such as Dropbox, which offers 5GB of free backup space thanks to Quicken's partnership with the service.
Step 1. To access Dropbox, log in to your existing account or create a new one by following the prompts on the Dropbox website.
Step 2. To save a file to Dropbox, go to Open File, click Backup and Restore, and then select the option to save the file to Dropbox.
Step 3. Choose Back up Now.
Step 4. Sign in to Dropbox on the new PC.
Step 5.To restore a backup in Quicken, open the software and navigate to File > Backup and Restore > Restore from Backup File. This will allow you to select the backup file you want to restore from and begin the restore process.
Step 6. Move to Dropbox location and click to restore.
