Rescuezilla is a free, bootable Linux environment that puts a graphical interface on top of Clonezilla. It is aimed at users who want a clone without memorizing text menus or command flags.
This guide explains how to clone a hard drive with Rescuezilla, which drives it can see, and when a native Windows tool is the better choice.
Because Rescuezilla boots its own Linux system, it can read NTFS volumes and copy Windows disks even when the installed system is broken. That makes it useful for rescuing a drive that no longer boots.
Rescuezilla copies partitions as they are. If the target is larger, the extra space stays unallocated until you extend the volume from Windows Disk Management.

If the target SSD is invisible, check the BIOS mode first. Switching between RAID and AHCI, or between UEFI and legacy boot, can hide a drive from the live environment.
If you want to clone from inside Windows with resizing built in, Qiling Disk Master runs the same disk copy without a live USB boot.
Watch the video tutorial below to clone the drive step by step with Qiling Disk Master.
Step 1. Open Qiling Disk Master, choose Clone, and then select Disk Clone.

Step 2. Select the source disk and click Next.

Step 3. Select the destination SSD and confirm that its data will be replaced.

Step 4. Choose the clone mode and resize the target partitions to use the full disk.

Step 5. Click Proceed, wait for the copy to finish, then shut the machine down before you remove any cable.

If the machine boots into the firmware menu instead of Windows, the EFI partition may be missing or the boot order still points to the removed source drive.
No. Rescuezilla uses the Clonezilla engine but adds a graphical interface, so you do not work through text menus.
Only when the used data fits. It will not shrink partitions for you, so resize the source first.
Most NVMe drives work, but very new controllers may need a newer ISO or a BIOS mode change.
Check the BIOS setting for RAID and AHCI, reseat the drive, and confirm the enclosure is powered.
Suspend BitLocker before the clone. A locked volume is not readable by the live environment.
Rescuezilla can also save an image, and that image is your fallback if the clone fails. Create one before you overwrite the target disk.
Watch the video tutorial below to back up Windows and restore it if the clone fails.
Step 1. Open Qiling Disk Master and select System Backup to include the boot partitions.

Step 2. Save the image to a drive other than the target disk and start the backup.

Step 3. Click Proceed to start the system backup and wait patiently until it finishes. You can also tick Shut down the computer when the operation is completed to power off automatically.

Step 4. If the clone will not boot, restore the image and clone again with a different mode.

Rescuezilla is the easiest way to use Clonezilla without text menus, and it can rescue a Windows disk that no longer boots. Plan for the missing resize step and the Secure Boot prompt, and test the copy before you wipe anything.
