BSOD (INVALID_DATA_ACCESS_TRAP) when upgrade to Windows 11 from Windows 10

When I was upgrading my Windows 10 computer to Windows 11 with Windows 11 Installation Assistant, it caused my PC to restart at around 8% and led to BSOD and an error code INVALID_DATA_ACCESS_TRAP. Eventually, the upgrade fails. What should I do? Any help will be appreciated!

The most efficient way to fix the INVALID_DATA_ACCESS_TRAP error is to download Windows 11 ISO manually.

To manually download and install Windows 11, go to the Windows 11 download page first.

Note: You should prepare a USB drive with at least 8GB storage capacity for ISO burning and installation in advance.

Step 1. To download the Windows 11 installation media, click on the "Download Now" button located under the "Create Windows 11 Installation Media" section.

Step 2. Run the "MediaCreationToolW11.exe" and accept the license and terms agreement. Select the language and tick "Use the recommended options for this PC."

Step 3. Select "USB flash drive" and hit "Next."

Step 4. Locate and choose your USB drive and hit "Next."

Step 5. Once you've downloaded the Windows 11 installation media, wait for the download to complete. Then, boot from the USB and install Windows 11 on your PC.

After creating a Windows 11 bootable USB drive, you can use it to upgrade your system. This process involves downloading the necessary files and converting them into an ISO, which may take some time. Once complete, you can proceed with the upgrade from your USB drive.

I recommend using Qiling Disk Master Professional to download the latest Windows 11 ISO and burn it to a USB drive, allowing for a quick and easy installation process.

Step 1. Download and run Qiling Disk Master.

Step 2. To create a Windows 11 bootable USB, go to "Bootable Media" and select "Burn ISO". Then, choose "Windows 11" from the "Download ISO from Microsoft" option.

Step 3. To download and burn the ISO, select your USB drive and choose "Proceed".

Step 4. To set your PC to boot from the USB and install Windows 11, follow these steps: First, ensure the USB drive is properly inserted and the PC is powered off. Next, enter the BIOS settings by pressing the designated key (usually F2, F12, or Del) and navigate to the Boot Order section.
