If your iCloud storage is full, you can free up space by managing your iCloud storage on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
To check available iCloud storage space on your iPhone, iPad, or iPad Touch, you can access the Settings app, tap on your name at the top, select "iCloud," and then tap on "Storage & Backup." From there, you can see how much storage space you're using and how much is available. This will give you an idea of how much space is left for storing your iCloud backups, photos, and other data.
To free up space in your iCloud, you can delete unused files, photos, and videos, and also remove unwanted apps and data. You can also consider upgrading your iCloud storage plan to a larger size if needed.
If you use iCloud for backing up your iPhone content and settings, newly installed apps will be automatically backed up. However, many apps compile data for iCloud, and a backup may not be necessary. You can set which apps to back up to iCloud and delete existing backups to free up storage space. To do this on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch running iOS 10.3 or newer, you can proceed with the necessary steps.
Select Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud.
If you use iOS 11, tap Manage Storage > Backup. If you use iOS 10.3, tap iCloud Storage > Manage Storage.
Tap the name of any iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch device associated with your account.
Under "Choose data to back up", turn off all apps that should not be backed up.
Select "Turn off & Delete".
You can delete existing backups in iCloud to free up more space.
For iOS 10.3 or newer:
Delete Mails: If you use your iCloud address for emails, those emails are also stored in your 5 GB of free iCloud storage. To free up space, open your email on your device and delete any unnecessary messages with large attachments. This will help reduce your iCloud storage usage.
Delete iCloud Drive data: If you use iCloud Drive, your data will also be stored in iCloud. To access or delete data, go to the "iCloud" category or log in to iCloud.com on your PC.
