Users often attempt to clone their hard drive to a Samsung SSD by using software like Acronis True Image, Qiling Backup, or Macrium Reflect. However, these cloning tools may not work as expected, leading to data loss, corruption, or incompatibility issues. A more reliable approach involves using a Samsung-specific tool, such as the Samsung Magician software, which provides a built-in disk cloning feature that can accurately transfer data from a hard drive to an SSD.
If you have the same needs in disk cloning, don't worry, we've got you covered. Two solutions are available to you: using Qiling Partition Master or Samsung Magician. Choose the one that suits your situation best.

Before executing the cloning process, there are some preparations. Check it first.
Cloning a source disk to a target disk will erase all data on the target disk, making it unrecoverable. If the target disk contains important files, back them up using backup software or manually transfer them to a safe location before proceeding.
To ensure a smooth cloning process, it's recommended to purchase a Samsung SSD that is at least as large as the original hard drive. If the target SSD is smaller, you might need to relocate larger files from the old hard drive to another location, which can be inconvenient. Therefore, it's advisable to prepare a larger SSD.
If your SSD is a new drive, you'll need to initialize it to access it. To do this, connect the SSD to your computer via a USB port and open Disk Management.
Are you ready to clone the hard drive to your Samsung hard disk? Select one of the following three ways.
1 - To clone a hard drive to a Samsung SSD using Qiling Partition Master, follow these steps: First, download and install Qiling Partition Master. Next, connect the Samsung SSD to your computer and launch Qiling Partition Master.

3 - Clone Hard Disk to Samsung SSD via Samsung Data Migration?
To achieve a smooth data cloning process, we recommend using the reliable disk cloning software Qiling Partition Master. This tool not only facilitates hard drive cloning but also offers additional features, such as partitioning your hard drive, adjusting volumes by extending, shrinking, merging, or splitting partitions, migrating the OS to an HDD or SSD, allocating space, and performing partition recovery.
Apply 4 steps to clone hard drive:
Step 1. Select the source disk.
To clone a disk, select "Disk clone" in the "Tools and utilities" page, then click the disk that you want to copy or clone.
Step 2. Select the target disk.
Select the desired storage device, such as a hard disk drive (HDD) or solid-state drive (SSD), as the destination and proceed by clicking "Next".
Step 3. You can choose from three options: Autofit the disk, Clone as the source, or Edit disk layout, to customize your disk layout, with the last option being ideal if you want to leave more space for the C drive.
Click "Proceed" to start the disk cloning process.
Step 4. View the disk layout and edit the target disk partition size to ensure optimal storage configuration.
Then click "OK" when the program warns it will wipe out all data on the target disk. (If you have valuable data on the target disk, back up it in advance.)
Samsung Data Migration can quickly move data from an old hard drive to a new Samsung SSD, transferring the operating system, applications, and user data.
Note: This software only supports the Samsung SSDs.
Step 1. Download Samsung Data Migration from the official website and launch the software.
Step 2. The software will only run if the operating system is installed on the source disk, allowing you to see the existing hard drive and the newly connected Samsung SSD.
Step 3. To clone up to three volumes, select them in the tool, which will choose the C drive by default.
Step 4. After selecting the clone option, click the Start button and refrain from disconnecting the drive until the cloning process is complete.
Although the software is user-friendly, it sometimes gets stuck at 0%, 99%, or 100% during the migration process.
Unfortunately, Samsung Magician does not have a cloning feature to clone a hard drive. It's primarily used for drive details, performance benchmarking, and diagnostic scans, but does not include a cloning feature. The software is designed with a similar user interface to Samsung Data Migration, but does not offer cloning capabilities.
Back to use Qiling Partition Master or Samsung Data Migration.
Step 1. To restart your computer, click the Power button. Alternatively, you can press the Del/F2/F10 key to access the BIOS settings.
Step 2. To resolve the issue, go to the Boot menu, change the boot priority, and select the cloned SSD as the boot drive.
To save and restart your computer, press F10, and it will boot from the newly installed SSD.
You can fix a cloned hard drive using software such as Qiling Partition Master or Samsung Data Migration, depending on the device. Qiling Partition Master is a more versatile option that works with a wide range of devices, while Samsung Data Migration is specifically designed for Samsung devices. Additionally, Qiling Partition Master offers more features to improve drive performance.
