Please Wait While We Install a System Update: Fix Windows Stuck

The message usually appears while Windows is applying firmware, driver, or system updates. If it stays for hours, the update may be blocked by a driver, low battery, disk error, or incomplete update files.

Before You Restart

• Keep the laptop plugged in.
• Wait at least 30 to 60 minutes if the disk light is active.
• Do not interrupt a BIOS or firmware update unless the PC is clearly frozen.
• If the screen has not changed for several hours, prepare to use Windows Recovery Environment.

Fix the Stuck Update

1. Hold the power button to shut down only after the PC appears completely stuck.
2. Turn it on and let Windows try automatic repair.
3. Open Troubleshoot > Advanced options.
4. Run Startup Repair.
