The message usually appears while Windows is applying firmware, driver, or system updates. If it stays for hours, the update may be blocked by a driver, low battery, disk error, or incomplete update files.

If Windows can boot again, create a system image before installing the same update. A backup gives you a clean rollback if the update fails again.
Step 1. Open Qiling Backup and choose System Backup.

Step 2. Save the image to an external disk or network location.
Step 3. Review the backup task and keep the destination connected.

Step 4. Click Proceed, then retry Windows Update after checking disk space, drivers, and power settings.
A stuck system update should be handled carefully. Try Windows repair tools first, then back up the system before applying the update again.
