The first question is where the file went. Check Recycle Bin and any synced or backed-up copy before scanning. If the file was permanently deleted, preserving the source drive matters more than trying several tools at once.
A normal Delete action usually sends eligible local files to Recycle Bin. Shift+Delete, files on some removable devices, and files removed from an emptied bin need different treatment. A missing OneDrive file may still be in its cloud recycle bin.
File History and other backups preserve older versions only if they were configured before the loss. A Windows recovery USB restores or repairs the system; it is not a backup of personal documents.
Note the original folder, file type, and drive. If the missing file was on C:, avoid installing software or downloading large files onto C: because that may reuse the deleted space.
Connect a separate disk for recovered output. If the storage is an SSD, recovery may be limited by TRIM; do not imply that an in-depth scan can reverse it.
Qiling Deep Data Recovery provides the scan modes shown below. The mode in Step 2 is chosen for this specific loss scenario; it does not change the need for a separate recovery destination.
Inspect Recycle Bin, OneDrive's deleted items, and File History. If no clean copy exists, install Deep Data Recovery away from the source and prepare a separate output drive.
Choose Fast Scan for recently deleted local files or Recycle Bin Scan after emptying the bin. For a USB or SD card choose USB/SD Scan instead.
Choose the volume that held the file, checking its capacity and drive letter. Click Scan and let the first pass complete before deciding whether a deeper pass is necessary.
Search or filter by extension, then preview files that appear to match. Do not rely solely on a filename or a result count.
Select only the needed files, click Recover, and save them on the separate drive. Open the restored copies before resuming normal work on the source.
Try the backup sources again with the correct account and date range. A file moved to another folder or renamed by sync software will not be found by a deleted-file scan in its old location.
If scans show corrupted files after an SSD deletion or heavy disk use, the content may have been overwritten or discarded. Do not format or reset the source as an attempted recovery step.
System Restore targets system state, not a dependable copy of personal files. Check File History or another backup instead.
Save to a different physical drive during recovery to avoid overwriting other deleted data.
