SSD is widely used as a system disk due to its faster read and write speed compared to HDD. However, its special wear-balance mechanism makes data recovery on SSD difficult, making backup necessary to prevent data loss from a system crash or SSD failure. Qiling Backup can automatically back up SSD to HDD with minimal time and effort.
Qiling Backup Software, a computer with your SSD, an HDD.
Qiling Windows backup software offers advanced and flexible backup features, allowing you to automatically back up your SSD or specified folder to an HDD or external hard drive with a scheduled plan, eliminating the need for manual copying and pasting, and enabling periodic backups such as daily, weekly, or monthly.
1. Make sure your hard disk drive (HDD) has enough space to hold the data from the solid-state drive (SSD) before attempting to clone or transfer data from the SSD to the HDD.
2. If your computer can't boot, you can create a bootable disk to troubleshoot the issue and also auto backup your Solid-State Drive (SSD) to prevent data loss.
Step 1. Launch Qiling Backup and click Disk/Partition to start.
Step 2. Select the SSD to back up, which can be a single partition or multiple partitions across different disks, as desired.
Step 3. To create a backup image, click on the folder icon behind Destination to select the desired hard drive partition where you want to store the backup image. Then, enter a Plan name and Description for your disk and partition backup. The default name and description are automatically generated based on the backup time and type.
Step 4. You can set up automatic backups of your disks and partitions using the Schedule feature, which can be triggered at specific intervals such as daily, weekly, or monthly, or even upon a specific event.
Step 5. Click Backup options and pop up the following window, set backup compression, password, splitting, etc.
Step 6. To implement a Click Image-reserve strategy, you can specify the number of days to preserve images or the number of last backup files you want to keep, which helps to manage disk space by limiting the number of image files stored. This is particularly useful when doing continuous backups with a scheduled backup plan, as it prevents the accumulation of outdated image files, thus saving disk space.
Step 7. Click "Proceed" to start the data backup process.
Qiling Backup is a convenient and efficient way to back up data from your hard disk drive (HDD) to a solid-state drive (SSD), and it works seamlessly on all Windows computers, including Windows 10/8.1/8/7/Vista, and XP.
