You can use Qiling Backup to quickly and efficiently copy a folder from one disk to another, or to create a backup of your entire system and software after upgrading your disk, without having to reinstall everything. This can also help you recover lost data from a damaged hard disk or migrate your data, programs, and system to a new hard drive.
When performing a disk cloning process, there are some important tips to keep in mind. Firstly, ensure that the source and target disks are of the same size and type, as mismatched sizes can lead to errors during the cloning process.
Step 1. Launch Qiling Backup, click "Clone" and choose source and destination disks.
The software automatically selects the system partition and boot partition on the "System clone" window.
Step 2. If using an SSD, choose "Optimize for SSD". Typically, there's no need to select "Sector by sector clone", as it will clone all sectors from the source to the destination and take longer. Preview the disk map by clicking "Layout" beforehand.
The software will start immediately cloning the default partitions of your desktop/laptop to the destination drive.
If the computer fails to boot from the cloned disk, try cloning the source disk to another disk with the same interface. If you're cloning a hidden partition, the cloned one will be visible.
