ArcGIS Software Mover|How to Transfer ArcGIS License to Another Computer
To transfer an ArcGIS Pro license, deactivate the license from the previous computer by going to the ArcGIS License Manager, selecting the license, and clicking "Deactivate". Then, on the new user's computer, install ArcGIS Pro, launch the License Manager, and follow the prompts to activate the license using the same serial number or product key. This will update the license to the new user's computer, allowing them to use the software.
To move your ArcGIS 10.5 software from one computer to another, you'll need to follow these steps: de-activate the software on the old machine, download and install the software on the new machine, and then activate it on the new machine using your ArcGIS license. You can deactivate the software on the old machine by going to Help > About ArcGIS, clicking on the "Deactivate" button, and following the prompts. Then, on the new machine, download and install the software from the Esri website, and activate it using your license. ArcGIS License Type
ArcGIS Desktop software licenses are available in three types: ArcGIS Desktop Advanced, ArcGIS Desktop Basic, and ArcGIS Desktop Standard. The Advanced license includes all the features of the Standard license, plus additional tools for data analysis and geoprocessing.
ArcGIS contains the three license type:
- The Named User license type applies only to ArcGIS Pro and is the default for it, requiring conversion through My Esri if different license types are used.
- Single-A stand-alone license allows a person to use ArcGIS Pro on one computer, such as a desktop, and does not permit use on a second computer.
- The floating Edition license allows multiple users to share access to ArcGIS Desktop from any computer on the network, including ArcGIS Pro.
How to Transfer ArcGIS to New PC
You can move programs to another computer by reinstalling them on the new device, and you can also transfer a license to other devices, allowing you to use the program on multiple computers.
Step 1. Run Qiling Disk Master on both PCs
On the source PC, select "File sync" on the main screen of Qiling Disk Master and proceed.
Step 2.Connect two computers
1. Connect to your target PC by selecting it via its IP address or device name, and click "Connect".
2. Enter the login password of the target PC and click "OK" to confirm.
If you didn't see the target PC in the listed devices, you can also click "Add PC" to manually connect the target PC by inputting its IP address or device name.
Step 3. Select apps, programs, and software and transfer to the target computer
1. You can choose what you want to transfer from the current computer to the target PC, allowing for a tailored transfer process.
2. Select the desired applications and programs, then click "Proceed" to initiate the transfer process.
Transferring License via ArcGIS License Manager
Applies: Move license to another PC (available in Single Use and Concurrent Use).
License Manager is a site administrator designed for installing and managing the license of ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Engine, and ArcGIS CityEngine.
Follow the steps to finish Esri licensing transfer:
Step 1. Install and authorize the License Manager on the old computer.
Step 2. Install the License Manager on another PC. When it finishes, the ArcGIS License Server Administrator appears.
Step 3. Click Authorization in the contents table, and choose Authorize Now button to run the Software Authorization Wizard.
Step 4. Choose I need to authorize licenses on my license server,to authorize the product and click Next.
Step 5. Choose Authorize your software from a local license server, click Next.
Step 6. Enter the authorization number and the license number.
Step 7. To start the license service on a new PC, click Start/Stop License Service in the contents table, followed by clicking the Start button.
