Quick Navigation:

When upgrading iPad to a new iOS operating system, one of the common issues that may occur is that the iPad gets stuck in recovery mode. To resolve this issue, you can try two workable methods: first, try to put the iPad in recovery mode and then restore it using iTunes, and second, if the first method fails, try to put the iPad in recovery mode and then update it to the latest iOS version using iTunes.

Method 1. Fix iPad stuck in recovery mode with iTunes restore

When your iPad gets stuck in recovery mode, you can use iTunes to restore it to its factory settings, but be aware that this will erase all data and settings unless you've backed up your device beforehand. It's recommended to make a backup in iTunes to save your data.

Before we begin, please ensure that you have the latest version of iTunes installed on your PC or Mac and go to Settings > iCloud to turn off "Find My iPad".

1.Connect your iPadto a computer with anoriginal USB cable.

2.RuniTunes on your PC or Mac.

3.When your iPad has been detected by iTunes, a pop-up window will appear and show that your iPad is in recovery mode. The iPad needs to be restored to its factory settings before it can be used with iTunes. Clicking "OK" will initiate the restoration process.

4.Your iPadwill restart after restoring to factory settings.

Method 2. Fix iPad stuck in recovery mode without iTunes

1. To restart your iPad, press and hold the Home and Power buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds, then release them until the screen turns off. This will restart your device.

2. Press and hold Home and Power button again for 8 seconds till you see the Apple logo, then release them after the iPhone screen turns off.

3. Press and hold the Home and Power button for 20 seconds, release the Power button and hold the Home button for 8 seconds.

4. 20 seconds later, releaseHomebutton and your iPadshall load normally again.

Tips: If none of the tips mentioned above gets you out of recovery mode, you can use some third-party iPhone unlocking tools like Qiling MobiUnlock to completely wipe your device and take it to its original state, or unlock iPhone without password.
