OneDrive is a cloud storage service that allows users to upload and sync files, but it is not a backup solution. It's primarily used for accessing and managing files across devices, sharing with others, and not for storing copies of important data.
OneDrive requires saving data in a local folder before syncing, and any changes made to files on the local drive will be synced to OneDrive. This means deleting a file in the local folder will also delete it from OneDrive. Considering this, we don't consider OneDrive a reliable backup solution, and instead recommend using a third-party backup and recovery software to securely backup files to OneDrive.
Qiling file backup software allows you to back up crucial data to an image file, saving it on a local hard drive or popular cloud servers like OneDrive, Google Drive, and Dropbox, without modifying or deleting local files. This makes OneDrive a backup destination, not a sync tool, and the backup process is straightforward and easy to use.
Step 1. Launch and run Qiling Backup on your computer. Click "File backup" on the "Backup and recovery" page.
Step 2. Choose the specific files that you want to backup to your cloud account - Google Drive/OneDrive or Dropbox.
Step 3. Select the Cloud Device path and click the "+" icon to access the cloud storage.
Step 4. Click "Proceed" to back up your data to your Cloud storage.
Once the process is complete, your videos will be saved to your cloud storage in a compressed format, freeing up space on your device.
