To wipe a hard drive without deleting Windows, you can use a tool like DBAN (Darik's Boot and Nuke) or a Windows-based utility like Disk Cleanup or the built-in Disk Wipe feature in Windows 10. These tools allow you to securely erase the data on the hard drive without affecting the operating system, so the new user can still use the computer with the same Windows installation. You can also use a third-party tool like CCleaner or a disk wiping software like KillDisk, but make sure to choose a reputable and safe option.

Second, I got Windows OS as well as some personal data & programs on the system partition, so I need to perform a factory reset to remove everything except the Windows system.

Part 1. Wipe Data Partitions Using Qiling Partition Software

Step 1. Launch Qiling Partition Master, and choose "File Shredder".

Step 2. Click the partition you want to erase data from, and click "Proceed".

Part 2. Wipe System Partition Data by Resetting

Resetting Windows to its factory default configuration will completely erase all personal data and applications on the system partition.

To get it done, refer to the standard path to the Settings:

To reset Windows 11, go to Settings, then select Update & Security, followed by Reset this PC. Choose "Get started" and then select "Remove everything", and finally "Remove files and clean the drive" to initiate the process.

After completing the above steps, you can securely wipe everything off a hard drive except the OS, rendering deleted files inaccessible to anyone.

Combining Qiling Partition Master with Windows factory reset options is the most comprehensive solution to wipe a PC or laptop, keeping only the OS intact. Part 1. How to Wipe an Entire Hard Drive

To completely erase everything including the operating system on the hard drive, you'll need to boot your computer from a WinPE environment, allowing you to use Qiling Partition Master's "Wipe Data" feature. First, create a bootable disk and choose the hard disk as the starting point instead of a single drive partition. This will enable the software to effectively wipe the entire hard drive.

Step 2. Click the partition you want to erase data from, and click "Proceed".

NOTE: Since each time you can wipe one partition, so it's going to take you equal time to handle all the disk partitions. In my case, I should repeat another four times of the two steps.

Use installation media to reinstall Windows 10, for example.

Step 1: To create installation media, go to the Microsoft software download website, download the media creation tool, and use it to create installation media on a DVD or USB drive.
