Method 1. Run Internet Explorer Performance troubleshooter 

1. To troubleshoot, press the Windows key on your keyboard, type "troubleshooting" in the search bar, and select the topmost search result.
2. To resolve the issue, go to Internet Options, click on the "View all" button, select "Internet Explorer Performance", then click on "Advanced" and finally select "Apply repairs automatically".
3. Follow the onscreen instructions and wait for the process to complete.
Then you can check whether the crashed IE browser can work or not.

Method 2. Scan and repair bad sectors 

Option 1. Repair bad sectors with partition manager software
Qiling partition manager software can help repair bad sectors in the Windows system, which may be causing issues with Internet Explorer not functioning properly.

Method 3. Disable Add-ons in Internet Explorer

2. To disable all add-ons and close Internet Explorer, click on the name of the add-on, then select "Disable" to disable all add-ons, and finally click on the "Close" button to close the Internet Explorer.

If not, continue below steps:
4. In Internet Explorer, go to the "Manage Add-ons" option in the tool menu, and then disable one add-on at a time to resolve the issue.
5. To fix the issue, simply restart the Internet Explorer to see if the problem has been resolved.
6. Enable the previously disabled add-on and disable another different add-on until the IE browser crashing problem is resolved.

Method 4. Reset Internet Explorer to default settings

1. To access the Internet Options box, open Internet Explorer and click on the "Tool" option, followed by selecting "Internet Options" from the dropdown menu. This will open the Internet Options box.
2. To reset Internet Explorer settings, go to the "Advanced" tab and click on "Reset" which will open the "Reset Internet Explorer Settings" dialog.

For Windows 10/8 users:
1. To update your Windows, start by pressing the Windows key on your keyboard, then type "check for updates" and press Enter. This will initiate the update process, allowing your system to check for and install any available updates.
2. To check for available updates for Internet Explorer, click on the "Check for updates" option on the Windows Update or Update status screen.

For Windows 7 users:
1. To open the Windows Update feature, click on the Start button to open the Start menu, then type "windows update" and press Enter.
2. On the Windows Update screen, click Check for updates to find the available update for the IE browser.
