How to Make Nintendo 3DS System Read SD Card Over 32GB

HELP! My 3DS Won't Read SD Card

You had a 32GB micro SD card that was full, so you swapped it with a 64GB micro SD card that you bought on sale. You transferred files from the old card to the new one, but when you put the 64GB card back into your Nintendo 3DS console, it couldn't detect the card. The card works fine on your camera, but the console can't read it. You need to figure out how to make the 3DS system read the 64GB SD card.

Factors such as a locked SD card switch or bad contact with the 3DS console can cause memory card issues, but these problems are often easily resolved by switching the lock to unlock or turning the 3DS off and on while removing the card.

If the error occurs after purchasing a new memory storage card over 32GB, it's likely due to the Nintendo system's inability to detect the card, as it only supports SD cards up to 2GB, SDHC cards up to 32GB, and not SDXC or UHS-type cards.

How to Make 64GB or Higher Capacity Memory Cards Readable in 3DS

64GB memory cards can be used on Nintendo 3DS consoles by converting the exFAT file system to FAT32 using free partition software like Qiling.

Be sure to back up your important items before formatting your SD card, then download Qiling Partition Master to format your 32GB+ SD card to FAT32, allowing it to work properly on your 3DS.

Step 1: Launch Qiling Partition Master. On the Disk management window, select the partition that you want to format and click "Format".

Step 2: Set a new partition label, file system (NTFS/FAT32), and cluster size to the selected partition, and click "Proceed" to continue.

Step 3. Click "OK" on the pop-up window to start formatting your SD card.

Now try to reconnect the over-To transfer files from your computer to your 3DS, insert the SD card into your computer, format it to FAT32, and copy the files you want to transfer. Then, insert the SD card into your 3DS, and it should be detected without any issues. If you encounter errors, try reformatting the SD card or checking the file format compatibility. Good luck.
