A bootable USB stick is a small, easily lost tool that a repair job depends on. Copying it to a second stick gives you a spare rescue drive, and the copy keeps the boot files that a plain drag-and-drop never preserves.
This guide explains what a bootable stick contains, how to clone it sector by sector with Qiling Disk Master, and how to test the copy before you rely on it.
Copying files in Explorer is not enough. A bootable stick depends on a boot sector and hidden partitions that only a disk-level clone reproduces.

A disk clone copies all of this in one pass. A file copy skips it, which is why the duplicate refuses to boot.

Plug the sticks directly into the machine, not through an unpowered hub. A hub that drops power mid-clone leaves the target half-written.
Qiling Disk Master treats a USB stick as a disk, so the clone keeps the boot sector and the hidden partitions. Download it and close any program that has files open on either stick.
Step 1. Open Qiling Disk Master, choose Clone, and then select Disk Clone.

Step 2. Select the bootable stick as the source and click Next.

Step 3. Select the second stick as the destination and confirm that its data will be replaced.

Step 4. Keep the partition layout unchanged so the boot files land in the same place, then review the plan.

Step 5. Click Proceed, wait for the copy to finish, then use the Safely Remove Hardware icon before unplugging either stick.

If the copy will not start, the firmware and boot-entry checks in Cloned Drive Wont Boot Fix apply to removable media as well.
No. Explorer copies files but not the boot sector, so the duplicate shows as a normal stick and never starts.
It can be larger. A smaller stick only works when the used data fits, and a sector-by-sector copy requires equal size.
Not always. Windows assigns letters at plug-in, so rename the volume or check the label before you boot.
Yes, if the card reader exposes the card as a disk and the card has enough capacity.
Small files and old USB 2.0 ports slow a clone. Use USB 3 ports on both ends and expect raw speed to matter more than file count.
Before changing drives or partitions, create a full system backup. Qiling Disk Master creates an image you can restore from.
Step 1. Open Qiling Disk Master and select System Backup to include Windows and the boot partitions.

Step 2. Save the image to a drive other than the USB sticks and start the backup.

Step 3. Click Proceed to start the system backup and wait patiently until it finishes. You can also tick Shut down the computer when the operation is completed to power off automatically.

Step 4. If a stick is wiped by mistake, restore the image and rebuild the bootable media from it.

A bootable USB stick is only useful when a spare exists and that spare actually starts. Check the source boots, pick a target of equal or larger size, name both volumes, and clone at disk level with Qiling Disk Master so the boot sector and hidden partitions travel with the files. Then test the copy in the boot menu of a real machine and reach the first installer screen before you trust it. Keep the original stick until the copy has proven itself.
